VIRUS OF VIOLENCE PLAGUES RESOLUTE
By Simone Byline

For the third time in a week south Resolute homocide detectives have been called to the scene of a murder. Last night, south Resolute resident Cole Parsons was found in an alley a block off Cawthorn Drive. He had been stabbed in the abdomen while returning home from working the early morning shift at Neubauer's Bakery on Cawthorn drive. The murder weapon was not found at the scene, but his wallet was gone.

Earlier this week, a missing girl was found dead.

Why was young Teanna killed? Instead of creating memories with her daughter, Teanna's mother is now sentenced to shudder at the memory of her daughters grizzly death.

Why will Cole Parsons' two children, ages four and six, have to grow up without a father? Why is his young wife now having to further struggle alone to support their two young children while trying to come to terms with her grief?

Drugs.

Yes, drugs.

A few weeks ago, a woman in her eighties was attacked on Cawthorn Drive in broad daylight for the 20 in her purse. She was beaten and had to be rushed to hospital. Doctors credit the woman's stubborn demeanor for keeping her alive, as a woman of that age would usually perish from such injuries.

Most of the attacks in the south end involve drugs. Murders spring from drug deals gone wrong, like the shooting last Wednesday outside the Karmic Club on Cawthorn drive. Attacks and muggings can happen any time of day to any person, old or young, male or female, by addicts desperate for another expensive hit. Those already high take to the streets.

Honest south end businesses are on the verge of shutting down, while north Resolute thrives. And what is being done?

Detective Kilm of the Resolute City Police homocide unit had this to say at last night's crime scene. "Can anything really be done? Impulses have been indulged for too long in the south end. This city has a virus to which there is no cure."

Though his statement is profound and disturbingly hopeless, Detective Kilm makes a good point. What can be done?

As always, Resolute's mayor was unable for comment. Does anyone actually even remember this guy's name, or anything he has done for this city while drawing his paycheck?

There has to be a solution, and this reporter will not rest until something is done in the south end. The question is: what?

MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER STABBING, SLASHING
By SIMONE BYLINE

Covered with blood, a stabbing victim staggered into the emergency ward of Resolute’s Valeur hospital last night. 31-year old Barty Davis was stabbed in the neck and his stomach was slashed open. Davis lost consciousness shortly after arriving at the hospital, but police estimate that he stumbled ten blocks from the initial crime scene. One witness, who has asked to remain anonymous, has not provided any information that has been helpful to police. So far, Resolute City Police have not been able to identify the attacker or attackers. Doctors are not optimistic that Davis will recover, and are searching for his assailants. Anyone in the 182 block of Cawthorn Drive between the hours of eight and nine p.m. are encouraged to call police with any information, however trivial it may seem.

BODY FOUND IN SOUTH END
Police believe it to be of missing Resolute girl

By SIMONE BYLINE

Resolute city police are baffled with the discovery of the body of a girl, found face-down behind a dumpster in the 200 block of Cawthorn drive. The body is believed to be that of missing Resolute local Teanna Carington, who disappeared a week ago. This is the latest crime in a series of tragedies occurring in the South end. I personally called the Chief of Police, Barry Graves, for further comment on how Resolute City Police plan to gain control over the violence and gang crime occurring in the south end.
“We are doing everything we can to protect Resolute’s
people and we will continue to do so diligently and with a
fierce resolve.”

This reporter was not satisfied with the statement given and called back many times but only received a statement of “No Comment” from the Police Chief Graves and his representatives.

Teanna Carington was sixteen years old and a front-runner
for the much coveted “Amber Thessinger Scholarship”, which
celebrates academic excellence. Her family is shocked and
distraught.

“I can’t believe this has happened,” Teanna’s mother, Judy
Carington told me early this morning. “I just can’t believe
it.”

Police have yet to release whether the attack and murder
involved sexual assault.

Mrs. Carington went on to say, “Gangs run around down here,
doing whatever they want and the police can’t touch them.
It was only a matter of time before [the gangs] killed
someone, I just can’t believe that it was my little girl.”
